Silurenza beach: Sea and Comfort at Porto

Silurenza Beach: The First Dive (and the Last Goodbye) of Procida

If you have just landed in Procida and look forward to sinking your feet into the sand, or if you only have an hour before your return ferry, theSilurenza beachis your lifesaver. Together with the nearby Lingua, it is one of the two beaches ofMarina Grande, but with an extra edge for families: here the sand is the star and the seabeds slope gently, making every swim a safe and relaxing pleasure.

Strategic Convenience Just Steps from the Center

La Silurenza is the beach of freedom. Just a short walk from the town centre and the hydrofoil docks, it lets you make the most of every minute of your time on the island. No buses or taxis needed — just a pleasant stroll of a few minutes from the harbour, along the historic battlementedPalazzo Montefusco(Palazzo Merlato), will take you directly to the shore.

Historical Establishments and Free Beach

Silurenza offers the best of both worlds:

  • Lido Grotte Azzurre:One of the island's most historic and beloved beach clubs. You can rent sun loungers and umbrellas in complete comfort, but the real highlight is the restaurant and bar: perfect for a quick bite, a coffee with sea views, or a fresh fish lunch without ever having to leave your spot.
  • Free Beach:For those who love getting close to nature with just a beach towel on the sand, large stretches of the shoreline are free to access. Nearby, you'll find bars and small restaurants ready to satisfy any craving.

The Rhythm of the Sun at Silurenza

Like all the beaches of the port, Silurenza also follows the rhythm of the rocky walls of the island:

  • The Morning:In the middle of summer, the sun rises and illuminates the bay towards the9:30. It is the ideal time for children, when the air is still fresh and clear water.
  • The afternoon:Keep in mind that, being backed against the hillside, the beach entersshadow in the early afternoon. This makes it the perfect refuge for those who want to avoid the hottest hours of the day, enjoying an aperitif in the fresh sea breeze before leaving.

Practical Guide 2026: How to Get There

  • A Feet:It's the most natural way. From the port of Procida (Marina Grande) turn right facing the sea and walk for about 5 minutes. Past Palazzo Merlato, you will find the signs to get down to the beach.
  • In Bus (Update 2026):If you arrive from other areas of the island, you can take theLine 1 (Bus 137)orLine 2 (Bus 138)and get off at the end of the Port. From there, the beach is within walking distance.
  • In Scooter or Bike:There are dedicated parking areas along the road that precedes access to the beach, making the stop easy and fast.
